Are you a seasoned Marine Underwriter with strong leadership skills? We're seeking an Associate Vice President – Marine to lead and inspire our marine underwriting team, driving strategic growth and excellence in risk management.

Role Overview

As the Associate Vice President – Marine, you will head the marine underwriting function, managing a team of underwriters and overseeing complex marine insurance portfolios. Your leadership will be key to developing underwriting strategies, optimizing business performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the marine underwriting team to achieve business objectives

Oversee underwriting submissions and ensure thorough risk evaluation and pricing accuracy

Manage and grow portfolios including hull, cargo, liability, and other marine-related risks

Collaborate with brokers, clients, and cross-functional teams to negotiate terms and secure business

Stay ahead of market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to guide underwriting strategy

Drive continuous improvement in underwriting processes, compliance, and loss prevention

Represent the marine underwriting department in senior management meetings and strategic discussions

What We're Looking For

Extensive experience in marine underwriting with proven leadership at a senior level

Deep understanding of marine insurance products, risk assessment, and portfolio management

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills

Ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team focused on results and quality

Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
