Are you a seasoned insurance professional with deep expertise in property underwriting and a passion for leading teams? We are looking for an experienced individual to join us as Associate Vice President – Property, where you will play a key leadership role in driving portfolio growth, underwriting excellence, and team performance.

Role Overview

As AVP – Property Underwriting, you will lead a team of underwriters and oversee the end-to-end underwriting of large and complex property risks. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong technical knowledge, and leadership capabilities to manage a profitable and well-diversified property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of property underwriters, ensuring strong technical capability and adherence to underwriting guidelines

Underwrite and manage large and complex property risks including industrial, commercial, engineering, and business interruption

Drive portfolio profitability and ensure alignment with business objectives

Develop and execute underwriting strategies to capitalize on market opportunities

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders

Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor activity

Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and reinsurance requirements

Support training, development, and performance management of the team

What We're Looking For

8+ years of experience in property underwriting, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or team management role

Strong understanding of commercial property and engineering lines, risk evaluation, and pricing practices

Proven track record of managing profitable portfolios and leading high-performing teams

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
