Partnership with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai (a Government of India-funded, multi-campus deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956) has designated Govindalaya as a Knowledge Partner for academic course delivery and skill training. Beginning in June 2025, we will offer skill-based training to students enrolled in various agricultural programs through TISS.

Position Overview:

The Student Mobilizer will play a key role in creating awareness about the skill based vocational programs and undergraduate/graduate courses offered at the Agriculture Skill Training Center in Govindalaya campus under the aegis of TISS, Mumbai. The mobilizer will engage with students, parents, and communities to drive enrollment and ensure that the programs reach the intended beneficiaries in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Identification and Enrollment:

  2. Identify and counsel prospective students and parents on course offerings, benefits, and career opportunities.

  3. Assist students in the enrollment process, including filling out application forms and documentation.

  4. Promotion and Outreach:

  5. Develop and distribute promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters in targeted educational institutions.

  6. Use social media and local media platforms to reach a wider audience.

  7. Community Engagement:

  8. Conduct community awareness campaigns, and visits to educational institutions and give presentations to inform about the vocational programmes of TISS at Govindalaya facilities.

  9. Collaborate with local community leaders, schools, colleges, and NGOs to promote the center's offerings.

  10. Database Management:

  11. Maintain a database of prospective and enrolled students for regular follow-up and communication.

  12. Track enrollment progress and report to the Center Head.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Graduate in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, or any related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in student mobilization, education promotion of Educational Degrees/ Vocational courses.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in Odia and Hindi (knowledge of local dialects will be an advantage).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and social media tools for outreach campaigns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attributes:
  • Passionate about rural education and skill development.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region.

Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per industry standards.
