Summary:

You will lead Sales and Marketing efforts for Solar and wind renewable energy products and services in a designated region of India. This role involves developing and executing regional strategies to achieve sales targets, building strong client relationships, and promoting renewable energy adoption among commercial, industrial, and utility clients. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the Indian renewable energy market, including policies, regulations, and emerging trends in solar and wind technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Renewable Energy), Business Administration, or a related field;
  • MBA in Sales / Marketing

Experience:

  • 16-22 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a role focused on solar and/or wind projects.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and closing deals in C&I, utility-scale, or hybrid renewable energy segments in India.
  • Experience in regional operations, with knowledge of local markets, languages, and cultural nuances in India.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement regional sales plans for solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy solutions to meet or exceed annual targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in C&I segments, utility-scale projects, and government tenders.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, including lead generation, qualification, and deal closure.
  • Negotiate and finalize Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), contracts, and partnerships with clients.

Marketing and Market Development:

  • Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the solar and wind sectors.
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, events, and webinars, to promote renewable energy solutions.
  • Collaborate with the corporate marketing team to localize national campaigns and create region-specific promotional materials.
  • Engage in policy advocacy and represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including CXOs, sustainability heads, procurement teams, IPPs (Independent Power Producers), utilities, and government bodies.
  • Conduct site visits, presentations, and consultations to understand client energy requirements and propose tailored solar/wind solutions.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through post-sales support and ongoing engagement.

Go to Market Strategy

  • Understanding the landscape: Identify key market trends, regulatory frameworks, competitive environment, growth prospects, and potential challenges within the renewable energy sector.

Demand & Supply Forecasting / Evaluation

  • Demand Forecasting: Develop and implement accurate solar energy demand forecasting models and methodologies, incorporating factors such as policy changes, economic growth, and consumer behaviour.

  • Supply Chain Evaluation: Analyze the solar energy supply chain (from raw materials to modules, inverters, batteries, and installation), assess sourcing options, and identify potential risks and opportunities.
