Summary:

The Lead - Project Execution will oversee the end-to-end execution of large-scale solar and wind renewable energy projects in India, assigned to him / her. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in utility-scale renewables, with a proven track record of handling multiple sites and coordinating with EPC contractors, government bodies, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical; Master's degree or MBA in Project Management/Energy preferred.
  • 9 -18 years of experience in renewable energy project execution, with at least 8 years in solar and/or wind sectors in India.
  • Proven experience managing utility-scale projects (e.g., 400 MW+ solar parks or wind farms) from inception to commissioning.
  • Familiarity with Indian renewable energy ecosystem, including policies from MNRE, tariff regulations, PPA negotiations, and grid integration challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of Solar and Wind Projects, from planning and procurement to execution, commissioning, and handover to operations & maintenance (O&M) teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, including site management, resource allocation, and progress monitoring to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors; conduct contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and resolve disputes to maintain project quality and safety standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including technical, financial, and regulatory challenges; implement risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) and external stakeholders, such as local government authorities (e.g., MNRE, SECI, state nodal agencies), utilities, and communities for permits, approvals, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian renewable energy regulations, environmental norms (e.g., EIA clearances), health & safety protocols (e.g., OHSAS standards), and quality benchmarks like ISO certifications.

Additional Desired Skills / Experience

  • Experience with hybrid renewable projects (solar + wind + storage).
  • Knowledge of emerging trends like green hydrogen or floating solar in the Indian context.
  • Prior roles in leading EPC firms or IPPs (Independent Power Producers) in India.
