Job Summary

The Manager - Bidding will lead the end-to-end bidding strategy and execution for renewable energy projects in India. This role involves identifying tender opportunities, preparing competitive bids, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to secure projects through government auctions (e.g., SECI, state discoms) and private RFPs.

Key Responsibilities

  • **Tender Monitoring and Opportunity Identification**:

Track and analyze renewable energy tenders issued by bodies like SECI, NTPC, state renewable energy agencies, and private entities. Evaluate project feasibility based on site conditions, grid connectivity, and policy incentives.

  • **Bid Strategy Development**:

Formulate winning bid strategies, including tariff optimization, risk assessment, and value engineering. Conduct market intelligence on competitors, tariffs, and technology trends.

  • **Bid Preparation and Submission**: Lead the preparation of technical, financial, and commercial proposals. Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, and procurement teams to compile documents, including PQ (Pre-Qualification), RFQ (Request for Quote), and RFP (Request for Proposal) responses.

-**Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

Work closely with project development, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), operations, and regulatory teams to ensure bid accuracy and compliance with guidelines (e.g., MNRE, CERC, state policies).

Qualifications and Experience

  • **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) or equivalent. A Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Energy Management is preferred.

  • **Experience**: 8-12 years in the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in bidding/tender management for IPPs or EPC firms. Proven track record in securing projects through competitive bidding in India (e.g., solar/wind auctions).

  • **Technical Knowledge**: Strong understanding of renewable technologies (solar PV, wind turbines, hybrids), grid integration, and power evacuation systems. Familiarity with tools like PVSyst, WindPro, or financial software (e.g., Excel-based models).

  • **Regulatory Expertise**: In-depth knowledge of Indian renewable policies, including REWA, ISTS waivers, ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers), and tariff determination mechanisms.
