Analyst - Renewable Energy (Solar / Wind / Hydro Power)

We are hiring for various Strategic positions at mid to higher Management levels for a listed group / its Subsidiary. The group is very active in M&A and creating new capacities in Solar / Wind Renewable energy space.

Role : Business Analyst

Level : Manager / Sr Manager

Reporting to the Head of Strategy

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution, conducting in-depth market analysis, financial modeling, and stakeholder coordination to drive business / project success. This role is crucial in navigating India's evolving renewable energy landscape, including policies from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), power purchase agreements (PPAs), and grid integration challenges. You will contribute to optimizing energy generation, forecasting, and business development in a fast-growing sector contributing significantly to India's net-zero ambitions.

Qualifications and Experience :

• **Education:**

Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Energy Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications in renewable energy (e.g., from IRENA or similar) are preferred.

• **Experience:**

4 + years in strategic roles within the renewable energy sector, with at least 2 years focused on Solar projects in India. Proven track record in strategy formulation, project / program management, and achieving growth targets in a regulated environment.

• **Technical Knowledge:**

Strong understanding of solar technologies, grid infrastructure, and India's renewable energy ecosystem, including tariffs, auctions, and net-metering policies. Experience with tools like PVsyst, HOMER, or similar for solar Modeling.

Desirable:

Experience in international solar markets for benchmarking against India.

• Background in consulting firms like McKinsey, BCG, or energy specialists (e.g., Deloitte Energy).

• Demonstrated success in securing government tenders or large-scale solar projects (>100 MW).

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed market research and trend analysis on solar and wind / hydro power energy sectors in India, including global influences on local markets, to identify opportunities and risks.

• Develop accurate energy generation forecasts and models for solar PV and wind assets, historical performance, and capacity utilization factors.

• Conduct Financial modeling, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed solar and wind projects, supporting investment decisions and funding proposals.

• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders, including independent power producers (IPPs), distribution companies, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Create and maintain data visualisations, dashboards, and performance reports using tools like Power BI, Excel, or similar, to monitor asset performance and operational efficiency.

• Support business development and sales efforts by prospecting potential clients, conducting SWOT analyses, and assisting in consultative selling for solar and wind solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, and finance) to design business processes, identify process improvements, and facilitate project management.

• Analyze data from renewable assets to identify trends, correlations, and optimization opportunities, ensuring grid stability and consumer demand fulfillment.

• Conduct stakeholder management, including communication protocols with power producers, consumers, and regulators, to address real-time operational challenges.
