Commis Chef – Bakery (Bulk Production)

Job Summary:
The Commis Chef – Bakery (Bulk Production) supports the bakery team in large-scale production of baked goods while maintaining quality, hygiene, and efficiency. The role focuses on assisting in preparation, baking, and finishing of products according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:Production Support
- Assist in bulk preparation and production of breads, pastries, and bakery items.
- Follow standardized recipes and production guidelines accurately.
- Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients for large-scale baking.
- Assist in operating bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers.
Quality & Consistency
- Ensure product quality, consistency, and correct portioning.
- Assist in monitoring baking times, temperatures, and product finishes.
- Report any quality issues to senior kitchen staff.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP).
- Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Follow FIFO and proper storage procedures for ingredients and finished products.
Teamwork & Learning
- Work cooperatively with the bakery team to meet daily production targets.
- Follow instructions from CDPs and Sous Chefs efficiently.
- Actively learn bakery techniques and bulk production processes.
Inventory & Waste Control
- Assist in stock handling, labeling, and storage.
- Minimize wastage by following proper handling and portion control procedures.
- Report shortages or damaged goods promptly.
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of bakery and pastry techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Good time management and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and cleanliness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate or diploma in Bakery / Culinary Arts (preferred).
- 0–8 years experience in a bakery or production kitchen (freshers may apply).
- Exposure to bulk production or central kitchen operations is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Shift-based work, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically demanding role involving standing for long hours.
- High-volume production environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to ₹25,052.75 per month
