Roles and Responsibilities

1. Guest Experience & Hostel Culture

Create a fun, welcoming environment for guests.

Plan social events like pub crawls, open mics, or yoga sessions.

Handle complaints politely and turn bad experiences into good ones.

Respond to reviews online and track guest feedback.

2. Sales, Marketing & Partnerships

Get more direct bookings through social media, offline promotions, and GMB.

Keep OTA listings ( Hostelworld, etc.) updated and well-rated.

Work with local artists, tour operators, and cafes to promote the hostel.

3. Daily Operations

Manage schedules, cleaning, and maintenance.

Use tools like PMS/POS for check-ins, payments, and reporting.

Handle issues like overbooking or equipment failure quickly.

Ensure the hostel follows all legal and safety rules.

4. Team Management

Hire and train staff, interns, and volunteers.

Make rosters and ensure fair workloads.

Solve team conflicts and give regular feedback.

5. Finances & Inventory

Track expenses and daily sales.

Manage inventory like linen, cleaning supplies, and bar stock.

Avoid wastage and prevent theft or leakage.

6. Problem Solving

Deal with critical issues like double bookings, guest complaints, or emergencies with care and professionalism.

Report important incidents to senior management.

7. Culture & Attitude

Be positive, responsible, and a team player.

Keep things professional while maintaining a chill hostel vibe.

Be open to learning and growing in the role.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field

Experience: Proven experience in hotel management, preferably in backpacking hostels.

Skills:

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and revenue management.

Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and online booking platforms.

Strong marketing and networking skills.

Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.

Comfortable working on weekends or holidays.

Love for travel, culture, and meeting new people.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Location: Goa, India

Gross Salary: INR 25,000 variable sales incentives
