Role & responsibilities

  • Paint Selection & Application: Choose the right paint for automotive parts, oversee application, and ensure quality through testing.
  • Powder Coating: Select and assess powder coatings, optimize processes for cost and performance, and check the quality of powder-coated parts.
  • Electro-plating & Anodizing: Select coatings for electrical components like PCBs and connectors, ensuring they meet performance standards.
  • Testing & Validation: Perform tests on all coatings to ensure durability, adhesion, and quality.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas to improve coating processes and reduce costs while maintaining quality.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with different types of paint, powder coating, and their application and testing processes.
  • Familiar with common paint and coating defects and how to fix them.
  • Experience with electroplating processes like zinc plating, nickel-chrome plating, and hard chrome plating.
  • Knowledge of hard coatings like anodizing, Nikasil, and ceramic coatings.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems related to surface coating failures.
  • Familiar with internal standards and testing procedures for surface treatments.
  • A good team player with strong communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and proactive in solving technical issues.
  • Willing to travel to supplier sites for trials, audits, and resolving process problems.
