The AHTU PMU @ Women Safety Wing is being set up in collaboration with the Association for Voluntary Action (AVA). AVA is a child rights movement founded and spearheaded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi in 1979. The position of Legal Associate will be on the rolls of AVA and funded by AVA. The role serves the following on a need basis: 1.Serve as the liaison between WSW and AVA Legal Backoffice. 2.Provide legal research, opinions, and case briefs for Investigating Officers (IOs), Public Prosecutors (PPs), and stakeholders. 3.Develop and maintain Legal Information Kits for victims. 4.Coordinate with legal experts and prosecution teams to ensure accuracy of opinions. *It may be noted that this is a back office and does not require or envisage any physical or virtual court presence as a rule. Only qualified legal professionals who are fine with this arrangement need apply*.Legal Associate- Job DescriptionCriteria Requirement Number of Position1 (One)Qualification - LLB with 2 years of experience, preferably in criminal law related litigation.Age - Should be less than 45 years as on date of application.Gender - AnyExperience - Proven legal research experience along with exposure of court procedures pertaining to criminal law. Experience in dealing with cases pertaining to Rape, POCSO, Trafficking and related matters will be a definite advantage.· Experience in handling litigation matters across District and High Court and Tribunals.· Drafting and reviewing of Complaints, Writs, Appeals, Contracts and Agreements.· Knowledge of substantive and procedural laws required for Litigation in Criminal Cases.· Research and drafting of legal opinions.Applicants with experience in corporate law, cyber law etc., shall not be considered for the current position.Skill Sets :Strong analytical ability, logical and problem-solving approach on complex issues.Fluent in reading & writing Telugu &English language.Keyboard Proficiency- 40WPM 100% accuracy on laptop.
