Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team at a rapidly scaling US fintech startup. The CFO will be a key partner to the CEO, driving financial strategy, growth, and long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in budgeting & forecasting, demonstrate critical thinking for high-stakes decision-making, and have strong team leadership skills to manage and scale the finance function in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Critical Thinking

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Apply strong critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate business risks, opportunities, and financial trade-offs.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to guide strategic decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Build dynamic financial models that adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Track variances and drive efficiency in resource allocation.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor the finance and accounting teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish scalable processes and empower team members for future growth.

Governance, Compliance & Operations

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and fintech regulations.
  • Oversee risk management, internal controls, and audit processes.
  • Implement robust financial systems, automation tools, and reporting standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA/CPA/MBA Finance (preferred) or equivalent advanced degree.
  • 5+ years in fintech/financial services/startups.
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale teams in high-growth environments.
  • Track record of critical thinking and decision-making in complex financial scenarios.

Experience with fundraising and investor management.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹900, ₹1,200,000.00 per year
