Job Description: Finance Controller – Fintech

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Controller to join our rapidly scaling US fintech startup. The Finance Controller will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and drive accuracy in reporting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and compliance, with proven ability to apply critical thinking and lead teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Control & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and fintech regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee internal controls, audits, and risk management processes.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles across the organization.
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models for planning and decision-making.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Track variances and provide insights for efficiency improvements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Implement scalable financial processes to support growth.

Strategic Financial Support

  • Partner with the CFO/CEO to provide financial insights and analysis.
  • Support strategic decision-making with data-driven recommendations.
  • Contribute to cost optimization and resource allocation strategies.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Product, and Tech teams.
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership and board review.
  • Support fundraising, investor reporting, and due diligence as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA/CPA/MBA Finance (preferred) or equivalent advanced degree.
  • 5 + years in fintech/financial services/startups.
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage financial operations in high-growth environments.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, compliance, and risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems, automation tools, and audits.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹800, ₹1,200,000.00 per year
