Restaurant Captain - Job Description

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly; thank and bid farewell with anticipation for their return.
  • Assist with table reservations and seating arrangements.
  • Ensure timely service and guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the menu and presentation standards; assist with menu selection.
  • Maintain professional communication with guests and staff; answer phone calls using proper etiquette.
  • Serve food and beverages with enthusiasm and apply correct service techniques.
  • Set tables according to event type and service standards.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen on menu questions, wait times, and product availability.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
  • Clear and return used items to appropriate areas.
  • Perform shift closing duties, including POS settlements and cash handling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of both front and back-of-house areas.
  • Ensure adherence to hotel brand standards and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with staff and managers to achieve restaurant goals.
  • Complete daily shift tasks and closing duties (restocking, lights off, etc.).
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks on operating equipment and supplies
