About the Job:

Job Overview:

We are developing a multi-acre mixed-use district on Ahmedabad's western frontier, envisioned as a holistic
live–work–play destination
. At the heart of this ecosystem is retail, anchored by two marquee retail developments that will be
owned and operated by us
. We are seeking a
Commercial Strategy & Transactions
leader to spearhead retail leasing, brand curation, event programming, and visibility—ensuring our developments are positioned as premier lifestyle destinations.

This role is for someone with a
knack for luxury retail, lifestyle experiences, and curated tenant mix
—equally passionate about retailing, design, and creating experiences that resonate with customers and brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy & Zoning

  • Define retail zoning, brand curation, and positioning strategies for both malls and the wider district.
  • Develop sustainable CAM (Common Area Maintenance) models balancing owner objectives and retailer viability.
  • Introduce differentiated concepts in F&B, entertainment, leisure, and luxury to ensure strong destination pull.

Business Development, Partnerships & Network Building

  • Build strong relationships with global, national, and regional brands.
  • Establish networks with retailers, brokers, industry bodies, and influencers to enhance visibility and access first-mover opportunities.
  • Negotiate anchor and marquee tenant deals that set the tone for the project's positioning.

Event Planning & Destination Visibility

  • Conceptualize and execute an annual calendar of cultural, lifestyle, and community events to enhance customer engagement.
  • Partner with brands, event companies, and cultural institutions to host high-visibility activations.
  • Drive district-wide events that reinforce the identity of the project as Ahmedabad's leading
    live–work–play destination
    .

Go-to-Market Strategy & Visibility

  • Develop and execute GTM plans to position the district and retail assets in the market with strong brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure high-impact campaigns, PR, and digital visibility for both retailers and the district.
  • Create storytelling, placemaking, and experience-driven strategies that highlight the project's uniqueness.

Transactions & Revenue Growth

  • Lead leasing, transactions, and revenue optimization strategies across retail assets.
  • Maximize value creation through balanced rental, revenue share, and experience-led models.
  • Innovate with luxury, lifestyle, and experiential retail formats to strengthen market differentiation.

Team & Culture

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial and retail strategy team.
  • Instil a culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence across functions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience
    : 10+ years in retail strategy, leasing, or commercial transactions, ideally from mall ownership/operations. Experience in luxury retail, event programming, or brand GTM strategies is highly desirable.
