General Manager

We are having an urgent opening for the position of General Manager - Planning and Monitoring for a reputed company in Infrastructure Industry at Gujarat(Ahmedabad) Location.

Job Description:

The General Manager - Planning and Monitoring will oversee the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and execution of multiple  infrastructure projects. The GM will work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of road construction, project management tools, and the ability to navigate and mitigate project risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling:
   • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for multiple road infrastructure projects.
   • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure designs align with project timelines and budgets.
   • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) to create, track, and adjust schedules as needed.
2. Monitoring & Control:
   • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
   • Conduct regular site visits to oversee project execution and maintain high standards of quality.
   • Implement and manage a robust monitoring and reporting system to track progress, productivity, and financials.
3. Resource Management:
   • Plan and allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects, balancing manpower, equipment, and materials.
   • Coordinate with procurement for timely supply chain management, minimizing delays in construction timelines.
4. Risk & Compliance Management:
   • Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
   • Prepare contingency plans for unforeseen issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
5. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
   • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and government authorities.
   • Provide regular progress reports, budget updates, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
   • Lead and mentor project teams, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
   • Foster strong relationships within cross-functional teams, ensuring a collaborative work environment.
   • Support talent development and implement best practices in project management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; NICMAR certification or postgraduate qualification in project management is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure project management, with a focus on road construction.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera, MS Project, and other relevant planning tools.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated experience in identifying and solving complex project-related issues.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on quality and results.
