About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible School Accountant to manage day-to-day financial transactions and support the administrative functioning of the school. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, as the role involves regular interaction with parents, staff, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including fee collections, receipts, and payments.
  • Manage daily accounting operations including bookkeeping, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and update fee reports, outstanding fee records, and follow up with parents when required.
  • Handle petty cash, vendor payments, and monthly expense statements.
  • Assist in budgeting, financial audits, and statutory compliances.
  • Coordinate with the administration and academic teams for finance-related updates.
  • Provide timely financial information to management as needed.
  • Prepare invoices, salary statements, and assist with payroll documentation if required.
  • Respond to parent inquiries regarding fees, receipts, and other payment-related matters in a professional manner.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles & MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for parent and staff interactions.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Tally/School ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: B.Com degree (mandatory)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of accounting experience (preferably in a school or similar environment)
  • Language: Proficiency in English.
