Manager Development

Summary of the Role

As a Development Manager in the Hospitality Descriptive Content team, you'll be responsible for guiding technical solutions, estimating effort, supporting your team during development and testing phases, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across software development and monitoring tools. You'll coordinate initiatives across global teams and help adopt modern development practices to improve productivity.

In this role you'll
  • Guide and support a team of engineers working on content ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
  • Contribute to process improvements and promote collaborative problem-solving.
  • Support career development through performance reviews and growth planning.
  • Coordinate system architecture and design with architects and stakeholders.
  • Oversee development using technologies such as Java (Object-Oriented Programming, REST APIs, Lambda, Stream API), Couchbase (NoSQL), Kafka (real-time streaming), Big Data platforms, Oracle DB, and MariaDB.
About the ideal candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in team management.
  • Experience in the hospitality or travel technology domain.
  • Familiarity with designing scalable systems and delivering cloud-based services using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, DevOps, C++, and Oracle Database.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architectures (Microsoft Azure preferred).
  • Motivated to learn and stay updated on industry trends such as cloud computing and conversational platforms.
