Role : Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server & PostgreSQL)

  • Insurance DomainLocation : BangaloreExperience : 4 yearsWe are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in SQL Server administration to support high-performance, mission-critical applications in the insurance domain.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in database performance tuning, stored procedure (SP) optimization, and maintenance tasks. Experience with PostgreSQL will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities :SQL Server Administration :

  • Manage and maintain SQL Server databases across multiple environments.
  • Perform routine database maintenance, including backups, archiving, and index management.
  • Handle installation, configuration, and upgrades of SQL Server databases.

Stored Procedure (SP) Tuning and Optimization :

  • Optimize and fine-tune stored procedures to enhance application performance.
  • Analyze query execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database interactions, particularly for insurance-related transactions.

PostgreSQL Knowledge (Added Advantage) :

  • Exposure to PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Work in environments that use both SQL Server and PostgreSQL for insurance data management.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization :

  • Continuously monitor database performance and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Implement and maintain SQL monitoring tools to ensure system stability and compliance with insurance data regulations.

Database Maintenance & Disaster Recovery :

  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including database shrinking and archiving of policy and claims data.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability of critical insurance-related information.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with insurance industry standards and regulations.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • 4 years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
  • Proven experience in SP tuning, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of database maintenance tasks, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Experience with insurance domain applications and workflows is highly desirable.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certifications in SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure, AWS RDS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
