Your Job
Koch is seeking a detail-oriented US Payroll Tax Analyst to join our Payroll & Tax team. In this role, you'll ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state and local payroll tax requirements, support year-end processing (W-2/1099), and partner closely with Payroll Operations, Finance, and external advisors to optimize our tax processes.

Our Team
The Payroll Tax team, a core part of the KOCH HRS Payroll function within HR Solutions India, delivers end-to-end US tax support for entities such as KOCH, Molex, Georgia-Pacific, Guardian and Infor. With expertise in both employee- and entity-level tax operations, we manage:

  • Tax registrations, inquiries and notices
  • Detailed reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
  • Collaboration with ADP and other internal/external partners for timely filings
  • Partnership with employees, supervisors and HRBPs to address Federal, State, Local and SUI tax issues
  • Year-end activities, including the issuance of W-2s and W-2Cs

What You Will Do

  • Prepare, review and file periodic federal, state and local payroll tax returns (Form 941, 940; state unemployment, withholding, disability tax returns, etc.).
  • Monitor changes in payroll tax legislation and guidance; research technical issues and implement process changes.
  • Maintain and update company tax registrations, EFTPS credentials, and state withholding accounts.
  • Support annual W-2, 1099, including review of source data and coordination of distribution.
  • Work with ADP to resolve tax notices/issues received at the Federal, State and Local levels.
  • Oversee the daily, periodic, monthly, and quarterly payroll tax setups of US employees to

ensure Local and State taxes are setup correctly.

  • Partner strategically with HR, employees, and supervisors to ensure employee address and work location updates are captured accurately and promptly. As a Tax Specialist, you play a critical role in verifying these changes to maintain proper state and local tax withholding compliance. By facilitating timely communication and collaboration across teams, you help mitigate tax risks, ensure adherence to jurisdictional tax laws, and support accurate payroll tax processing
  • Maintain and validate SUI tax rates and ensure they are updated in SAP and ADP.
  • Respond to payroll tax enquiries from employees and HRs Via Email, Outbound Calls.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience within a multinational or large U.S. employer.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment.
  • Standard work hours are 4PM to 1AM IST or 6PM to 3AM IST.
  • Ready to Work from the Office - 5 days

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Excellent understanding of US employment taxes (FIT, SIT, FUTA, SUTA, Locals), state

Reciprocity and filing frequencies, pre-tax and post-tax deductions and benefits.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP,SAP, Workday, Ceridian,Dayforce).
  • Experience managing multiple EIN's; multi-state taxation.
  • Deposits and filing knowledge. Entity registrations with state tax agencies.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and familiarity with data‐query tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally with non-tax stakeholders.
