Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing critical insights into the financial health of real estate development projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting within the real estate industry, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of real estate transactions, development costs, and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Ensure tax compliance for real estate projects, including handling property taxes, sales tax, and other taxes related to development activities.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits, preparing relevant documentation and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and records.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze financial data and provide senior management with insights on profitability, cost efficiency, and potential financial risks. Assist in financial decision-making.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Implement and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Recommend process improvements for increased efficiency.
  • GST Working & Filing (R1, 3B, 9 & 9C): Prepare and file GST returns, including R1, 3B, 9, and 9C, ensuring compliance with GST regulations.
  • TDS Working & Filing: Calculate, deduct, and deposit TDS in accordance with applicable laws
  • Advance Tax Working: Manage and Calculate advance tax payments.
  • Self-Assessment Tax Working:
  • Ensure accurate calculations and timely submission of self-assessment tax.

Maintain and reconcile 2B and 3B records in Tally ERP 9 & Prime.

Handle 26QB filings and related documentation.

Understanding Notices (if any) and Preparing Data for Replies

Collaborate with auditors by providing data and addressing any queries during audits.

Work in coordination with the CA to prepare accurate Balance Sheets and Profit/Loss statements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years of experience in real estate development accounting or real estate finance.
  • Strong understanding of real estate development processes, including land acquisition, construction accounting, financing, and revenue recognition.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements specific to the real estate industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate.
  • Experience with joint ventures and partnerships in real estate development.
  • Knowledge of the local regulatory environment and tax incentives related to real estate.
