Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of GST (Goods and Services Tax) and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), along with a strong background in accounting principles and practices. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and overseeing the company's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • GST Compliance: Manage GST-related processes including filing of GST returns, reconciliation of GST ledgers, and addressing any GST-related queries from authorities.
  • TDS Compliance: Oversee TDS-related activities, including calculation, deduction, and timely payment of TDS, preparation and submission of TDS returns, and compliance with TDS regulations.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and receipts.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Taxation: Ensure compliance with income tax regulations and other applicable tax laws. Assist with tax planning and preparation of tax returns.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate records of all financial transactions and documents.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing support and training as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GST and TDS compliance.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GST and TDS regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working in a similar role within a medium to large-sized organization.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced accounting software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
