is a US-based precision oncology diagnostics company, delivering high-end NGS-based diagnostic services, including FFPE and ctDNA assays. We're looking for a highly organized and agile Manager – Operations & HR to oversee and coordinate the daily business functions at our India office. This role is pivotal in ensuring our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our scientific and commercial goals. As we expand, we are seeking a dynamic Operations & HR Manager who can bring structure, streamline workflows, ensure compliance, and build a motivated, high-performance workforce.
Role
The Operations & HR Manager will oversee both business operations and human resources. This hybrid leadership role ensures that day-to-day operations run efficiently while also managing people, policies, and compliance. The position is critical in building a scalable foundation for Canary Oncoceutics as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
· Develop and implement SOPs for lab workflows, client onboarding, sample logistics, and reporting.
· Coordinate across sales, application scientists, and laboratory teams to ensure seamless delivery.
· Track and optimize operational metrics such as turnaround time (TAT), productivity, and client satisfaction.
· Manage vendor relationships, supply chain, and budgeting for consumables and logistics.
· Ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, GDPR, and Indian data protection norms.
· Implement ERP/HRMS tools for better process visibility and automation.
· Prepare the company for regulatory and quality audits.
Human Resource Management
· Manage end-to-end recruitment & onboarding for sales, scientific, and support staff.
· Oversee payroll, statutory compliance, and employee benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, labor laws).
· Administer leave and attendance systems, ensuring that all leave requests require mandatory approval from both company management and clients.
· Draft, update, and enforce HR policies, employee handbook, and compliance frameworks.
· Handle employee relations, engagement, and grievance resolution.
· Establish structured training and development programs for sales, scientific, and support teams.
· Drive succession planning and prepare to scale HR/Operations teams as the company grows.
· Key Qualifications
· Education: MBA / Master's in Operations, HR, Life Sciences, or related field.
· Experience: 5–10 years in healthcare, diagnostics, pharma, or biotech operations/HR.
· Demonstrated experience in scaling teams and managing compliance-heavy environments.
· Strong understanding of Indian labor laws, payroll compliance, and HR best practices.
· Proven skills in process building, budgeting, and vendor management.
· Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills; ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
