  1. JOB PURPOSE

To lead and manage Apraava Energy's carbon trading activities by driving the issuance of carbon certificates and VERs, executing high-impact trading strategies, maximizing revenue opportunities, and securing all necessary internal & external approvals and compliance in alignment with the company's sustainability and growth objectives. Develop alternate revenue lines for Apraava Energy by generating sales in Carbon Portfolio (Issuance of Carbon certificates, Identifying the buyers, obtaining all internal and External approvals, Managing Compliances, achieving carbon revenue stream, selling it to Identified Buyers) and any other business opportunity in the non-utility segment.

Develop and implement a comprehensive Carbon market strategy and managing portfolio across different RE assets Carbon Certificate Issuance & Portfolio Management

  • Drive end-to-end issuance of carbon certificates and VERs across eligible assets and projects.
  • Manage the registration, verification, validation, and issuance processes with relevant national and international registries.
  • Maintain a robust carbon asset inventory and project pipeline aligned with market opportunities and sustainability targets.


• Keep abreast of regulatory framework as well as other parameters (third party tariffs, consumer preferences, competitors) impacting Open Access PPAs and rooftop solar offerings; Provide regular updates to management on the same

Continuously scan the market to identify new investment opportunities in private power markets (specifically Open Access PPAs and rooftop solar offerings); Determine their feasibility for Apraava Energy basis buyer's credibility & regulatory framework and present to senior management for review

Liaise with transmission companies, power brokers and other relevant external stakeholders to figure out the best possible approach and geographies for offering private power market solutions Conduct detailed market research and prepare various documents to facilitate development of Go-To-Market strategy for Private Power Markets Trading Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement high-impact trading strategies to optimize carbon revenue across domestic and international markets.
  • Identify, negotiate, and execute spot, forward, and structured carbon transactions with buyers, intermediaries, and exchanges.


• Monitor market trends, pricing signals, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities to drive trading performance. Conduct intensive market research on private power markets (specifically rooftop solar products) perform market sizing, competitor analysis, SWOT and other related analysis to identify existing products in the markets and determine the risks involved

• Develop a go-to-market strategy for rooftop solar products basis market research, ensuring maximum returns on investments and appropriate coverage from all associated risks

  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders (BD RE, Technical, Legal, Finance) to develop a proposal format for pitching Apraava Energy's rooftop solar products, detailing Apraava Energy's USP and credentials, QC specifications, work distribution for future proposals, etc.

Support sales of private power markets products by making initial contact with buyers and managing all sales documentation Revenue Optimization & Commercial Innovation

  • Proactively maximize carbon monetization through portfolio management, timing, product structuring, and market segmentation.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for value stacking (carbon + RECs + green attributes where applicable).
  • Innovate on contract structures (forward offtake, options, bundled products) to enhance portfolio value.

Identify potential buyers for private power markets offering of Apraava Energy by scanning the market and liaising with various external stakeholders (such as power brokers, industry forums, peers from competitors, etc.)

Conduct initial rounds of discussions with buyers to understand their requirements and present Apraava Energy's USP; Present the opportunity to reporting manager and seek approval to pursue the opportunity further

Determine detailed terms, conditions and pricing for the contract basis user requirements, generation and consumption data; Provide support in negotiation process with buyers as and when required

Obtain necessary internal and regulatory approvals for closing the transaction; Interact with legal team to finalize the contracting terms of agreed PPA

Maintain an effective repository of all related documents for future use and to facilitate internal / external audits; Provide periodic MIS updates to management on the sameApprovals, Compliance and Risk Management

  • Secure all necessary internal and external approvals for carbon market participation, trading activities, and revenue realization.
  • Ensure full compliance with: Carbon Market regulations and processes. Voluntary and compliance carbon standards and registries, Apraava's internal policies (risk, legal, finance, sustainability).
  • Manage market, counterparty, and delivery risks associated with carbon trading.

Market Intelligence and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
  • Buyers (corporates, utilities, traders, airlines, platforms).
  • Market intermediaries (brokers, aggregators, exchanges).
  • Registries and standard bodies.
  • Track policy developments, market trends, and evolving compliance frameworks to inform trading strategy and risk management.

Reporting and Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain carbon trading dashboards and performance reports for leadership.
  • Provide regular insights to Finance, Risk, ESG, and Senior Leadership on carbon market trends and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with other cross functional teams policy & regulatory, commercial, sustainability/ESG team won't align with corporate climate commitments

Educational Qualifications
