HR Operations Associate
Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai

About the Role
We are seeking a mid-level Human Resource Operations Specialist with a strong focus on data management, onboarding, compliance, employee engagement, and security processes. This role will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of employee data in HR systems, supporting onboarding processes, assisting with background verification checks (including field verification), contributing to employee engagement initiatives, and supporting the implementation of new HR and security-related initiatives. The position requires some travel (approximately 10 -15%) for verification, compliance & onboarding activities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems.
- Regularly audit HR data to ensure compliance, accuracy, and integrity.
Generate reports and provide insights to support HR and management decisions.
Onboarding Support
Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Prepare and manage documentation, induction schedules, and system access.
Partner with other HR team members to deliver a consistent employee experience.
Background Verification & Compliance
Assist in conducting employee background checks, including both documentation review and field verification where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and compliance standards.
Coordinate with external agencies/vendors for verification processes.
Employee Engagement Support
Assist in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives and activities.
- Support HR leadership in fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Gather employee feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of engagement programs.
Process & Security Support
Support the implementation of new HR and security initiatives across the organization.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to improve operational workflows and data security practices.
Assist in developing checklists, guidelines, and compliance frameworks.
Field Work & Travel
Travel (approximately 10-15%) to conduct field checks, site visits, and verification activities as required.
- Ensure field processes align with company standards and compliance needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in HR operations, HRIS data management, or compliance-related roles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and data management skills.
- Familiarity with HR systems and tools (HRIS/ATS).
- Willingness to travel as part of onboarding verification and compliance checks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Desired Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with employees, vendors, and external agencies.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting HR projects or system implementations is a plus.
