Job Description:

Requirement: Knowledge of material identification and proper loading as per requirements (experience in steel industry preferred).

A Loading Supervisor oversees and coordinates the safe, efficient loading and unloading of goods from various conveyances like trucks, ships, and trains to meet schedules and comply with safety standards. Key responsibilities include managing workflow, supervising loading staff, inspecting goods for accuracy and damage, recording shipment information, and performing data entry for management reports. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise Staff:
    Assign tasks to workers, monitor their performance, and provide training or instruction as needed. 


  • Oversee Operations:
    Coordinate all loading and unloading activities to ensure they are performed safely and efficiently. 


  • Manage Schedules:
    Ensure that loading and unloading schedules are met and that sufficient workers and equipment are available. 


  • Inspect Goods:
    Check incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy against shipping documents, and inspect them for damage. 


  • Record Information:
    Record details about the goods, including descriptions, weights, and the vehicles they are loaded into or unloaded from. 


  • Maintain Reports:
    Collect data on time, production, and costs, and prepare reports for management on the results. 


  • Ensure Safety:
    Adhere to and enforce all company and legal safety standards during operations.

  • Communication:
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with teams and management. 


  • Organization:
    Excellent organizational skills to manage workflow, schedules, and multiple tasks. 


  • Problem-Solving:
    The ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during loading and unloading processes. 


  • Attention to Detail:
    Critical for verifying shipment details, inspecting goods, and accurately recording information. 



Qualifications & Experience 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Relevant work experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management can be advantageous.
