Microsoft 365 and Identity Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Windows Server Administration

Administer Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 across on-prem and hybrid environments.

Maintain high availability and performance through clustering, load balancing, and OS hardening.

Manage DNS, DHCP, File, and Print servers ensuring enterprise reliability and compliance.

Automate server build, patching, and routine maintenance using PowerShell and Ansible/MS Flow.

Conduct root cause analysis for performance and availability issues, coordinating with global support teams.

  1. Active Directory & Identity Management

Administer and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS integration, and replication health across multiple domains and sites.

Manage Azure AD (Entra ID) synchronization, hybrid identity, and Conditional Access policies.

Implement enterprise-level RBAC, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and periodic access reviews.

Lead AD modernization projects – domain consolidation, migration, and hardening initiatives.

Collaborate with Security teams on audit findings and remediation.

  1. Virtualization (VMware & Hyper-V)

Administer large-scale VMware vSphere / vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V environments hosting mission-critical workloads.

Perform VM provisioning, cloning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Manage vMotion, HA, DRS, and resource pools ensuring optimized utilization.

Conduct periodic upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of hypervisors.

Integrate with storage (SAN/NAS) and backup infrastructure for resilience and data protection.

  1. Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

Administer and manage Entra ID (Azure AD) including user lifecycle, roles, and group management.

Implement Conditional Access, MFA, SSPR, and identity protection policies.

Manage Entra ID B2B/B2C and app registrations.

Monitor and respond to identity security alerts and anomalies.

Integrate enterprise applications (COTS and custom) with Azure AD / Entra ID for secure SSO and identity governance.

Detect, investigate, and remediate suspicious sign-ins, lateral movement, and privilege escalation activities.

  1. Microsoft 365 & Exchange Online Security

Administer and secure Exchange Online, including transport rules, mail flow policies, spam/malware filtering, and anti-phishing configurations.

Implement Defender for Office 365 features such as Safe Links, Safe Attachments, and threat investigation & response.

Monitor message trace, quarantine, and phishing campaigns; perform forensic analysis of compromised mailboxes.

Manage Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and secure mail routing, hybrid connectors, and DKIM/DMARC/SPF configurations.

Collaborate with Messaging and Compliance teams to enforce DLP, retention, and compliance policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)

Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate (MS-203)
