We are seeking an IT Support Officer based in our Kolkata office. This offers an exciting opportunity to join and learn from a highly experienced team.
Role Summary
The IT Support Officer provides first and second line technical support across the India office. The focus is endpoint management, Microsoft 365, user onboarding, hardware builds, software troubleshooting, and coordination with the Global IT team. The role supports a global business, so clear communication in English is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support
a) Deliver first- and second-line support for laptops, desktops, printers and office hardware.
b) Resolve issues with Windows, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint and line-of-business apps.
c) Manage user onboarding and offboarding tasks including account setup and device preparation.
d) Escalate complex problems to the Global IT team when needed.
2. Endpoint and Device Management
a) Build, configure and deploy user laptops following SRK standards.
b) Maintain device compliance using the approved management tools.
c) Ensure antivirus, updates and security policies remain in place.
3. Microsoft 365 Support
a) Support SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online and OneDrive issues.
b) Assist with permissions, file access, shared mailboxes and basic administration tasks.
c) Work with the Global team on process improvements and governance.
4. User Support and Service
a) Provide clear communication to users in English.
b) Explain technical issues in simple language.
c) Deliver a strong service culture aligned with SRK standards.
5. Documentation
a) Keep accurate records of support tickets, asset inventory and issue resolutions.
b) Maintain local office IT process documentation.
6. Local Office Support
a) Support meeting room equipment, conferencing tools and basic AV setups.
b) Liaise with external vendors for repairs and procurement when needed.
7. Continuous Improvement
a) Identify recurring issues and propose improvements.
b) Keep knowledge up to date through UK-led training sessions.
Skills and Qualifications
Education
Degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Certifications
CompTIA A+ or equivalent helpful but not required.
Any Microsoft 365 or Azure fundamentals certifications are advantageous.
Experience
At least 2 years in a technical support or service desk role.
Strong experience with Windows support and Office 365.
Experience working in a professional services environment is helpful.
Technical Skills
Strong Windows troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of Office 365 and Teams.
Understanding of device compliance and security basics.
Familiarity with ticketing systems.
Soft Skills
Strong written and spoken English.
Clear communication and patience.
High attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with international teams.
Work Environment
Full-time role based in Kolkata.
Occasional travel to other offices
Close collaboration with the Global IT team through regular calls and shared projects.
