Senior Director, Quality Assurance

The Senior Director, Quality Assurance is a strategic leader responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution of all test engineering activities across the large team. This role oversees the design and implementation of test processes for software or integrated systems to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. The Senior Director will lead global teams, champion automation and innovation, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver world-class products.

About You (Skills & Qualification Required)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).

• 18+ years of progressive experience in test engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Deep expertise in test engineering for software, hardware, or integrated systems, including hands-on experience with modern test automation tools and frameworks.

• Proven track record of building and scaling global test engineering teams.

• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software/hardware development practices.

• Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, embedded systems, or AI/ML-driven testing is highly desirable.

What will you be doing in this role? 

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for test engineering in alignment with business objectives.

• Serve as a thought leader and advisor to executive management on test engineering best practices and emerging trends.

Test Engineering Management

• Oversee the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies, including manual, automated, performance, security, and system-level testing.

• Drive the adoption of advanced test automation frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

• Ensure rigorous validation of products throughout the development lifecycle, from early prototyping to post-release support.

Team Leadership & Development

• Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing global test engineering teams.

• Establish clear goals and performance metrics, providing regular feedback and opportunities for professional growth.

Process Optimization

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase test efficiency, coverage, and effectiveness.

• Standardize best practices, metrics, and documentation across all test engineering teams.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner closely with Product Management, Development, DevOps, QA, and Support teams to integrate testing seamlessly into the software/tool development lifecycle.

• Act as the primary representative for test engineering in cross-functional initiatives and with external partners.

Risk & Issue Management

• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to product quality, delivery timelines, and customer satisfaction.

• Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions for critical quality issues.

Reporting & Metrics

• Define, monitor, and report on key test engineering KPIs and quality metrics to senior leadership.

• Present regular updates on test progress, quality trends, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Team   

The existing team is spread across India and includes Testers with strong technical and analytical skills. You would be part of large QA Group responsible for delivering world class products and innovative solutions in the field of IP.

Hours of Work

The role and employment will be of fulltime with Clarivate. You will be working in IST time zone. 9 hours of work per day including 1-hour lunch break. We have hybrid work model, flexible and employee friendly work environment.
