Job Purpose:

To lead the sales function for
Low Tension (LT) and Communication Cables
across
domestic and international markets
, with full
P&L accountability
and ownership of a business revenue portfolio of
₹500+ crore annually
. The role demands strategic leadership to integrate sales with operations, drive margin improvement, expand market share, and ensure price competitiveness in both local and export markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. P&L and Business Leadership

  • Own and deliver annual sales revenue of
    ₹500+ crore
    , with full
    P&L responsibility
    for the LT & communication cables business unit.
  • Monitor and improve profitability by optimizing pricing, cost control, and margin management.
  • Align sales targets with business objectives and growth strategy.

2. Sales Strategy & Market Development

  • Formulate and execute medium- and long-term strategies for domestic and export markets.
  • Expand market presence across
    India
    and
    international geographies
    (Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, etc.).
  • Drive market penetration through new customer acquisition, distributor expansion, and EPC engagement.

3. Operations & Supply Chain Integration

  • Collaborate closely with operations, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure demand forecasting, OTIF (On-Time In-Full) deliveries, and inventory optimization.
  • Ensure production planning aligns with market demand and customer timelines.

4. Price Competitiveness & Market Intelligence

  • Continuously benchmark pricing against competitors and adjust strategies to maintain competitive edge.
  • Monitor input costs, FX impact (for exports), and market dynamics to manage risk and pricing accuracy.

5. Exports & International Business

  • Drive growth in international sales through channel partners, direct customers, tenders, and government projects.
  • Ensure compliance with export documentation, logistics, and statutory regulations.

6. Key Account & Channel Management

  • Manage strategic relationships with key accounts (OEMs, EPCs, Utilities, Telecom Companies).
  • Oversee distributor network and ensure sales performance, training, and credit control.

7. Leadership & People Development

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing pan-India and international sales team.
  • Define KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and implement incentive structures to drive accountability and results.

8. Business Reporting & Governance

  • Report on business metrics, forecasts, risks, and opportunities to the senior leadership.
  • Ensure robust MIS systems, CRM utilization, and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering;
    MBA/PGDM preferred

  • Minimum 20
    years of experience
    in cable industry.
  • Proven success in managing ₹500+ crore P&L and scaling sales teams.
  • Experience in both
    domestic and export
    markets for cables.
  • Familiar with tendering, government contracts, EPC sales, and channel business.
