About the Role
The Partnership Manager (Fintech) is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships within the financial ecosystem—including banks, payment processors, technology vendors, platforms, and fintech startups. This role helps drive product adoption, expand market reach, and strengthen the company's competitive position through high-impact partnerships that support innovation, compliance, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Ecosystem Development
- Identify and evaluate potential partners across the fintech landscape (banks, PSPs, card networks, API providers, regtech firms, etc.).
- Develop partnership roadmaps that support business goals—such as scaling payments, lending, remittances, wallets, or embedded finance products.
- Conduct market, regulatory, and competitive analysis to pinpoint new partnership opportunities.
Relationship & Account Management
- Act as the primary contact for partners, ensuring strong, trust-based relationships.
- Conduct regular business reviews, performance assessments, and opportunity planning with partners.
- Manage escalations, operational dependencies, and cross-functional communication.
Contracting, Negotiation & Compliance
- Lead contract negotiations, including commercial terms, SLAs, revenue-share models, and data-sharing agreements.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure partnerships meet financial regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC/AML, PCI-DSS, data privacy).
- Structure contracts that balance commercial value with operational feasibility and regulatory obligations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, engineering, risk, and operations teams to integrate partner solutions.
- Support go-to-market teams (sales, marketing) with partnership-powered initiatives and co-branded activities.
- Coordinate technical integrations and track progress in collaboration with engineering and product managers.
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Monitor KPIs such as transaction volume, revenue contribution, activation rates, and operational performance.
- Use analytics to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency improvements, or product enhancement.
- Optimize or sunset partnerships based on performance, compliance requirements, or strategic shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in partnership management, business development, or account management within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial technology systems (APIs, payment rails, digital wallets, lending platforms).
- Demonstrated success negotiating commercial contracts and managing strategic accounts.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with regulated financial institutions or payment providers.
- Familiarity with fintech regulatory frameworks (KYC/AML, PSD2/Open Banking, PCI-DSS, data privacy laws).
- Prior experience in embedded finance, digital payments, neobanking, or financial infrastructure.
- MBA or relevant certification (e.g., Fintech, Product Management, Compliance).
