Job Title: Tandoor Commis

Department: Kitchen / Culinary

Job Summary:

The Tandoor Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes prepared in the tandoor. This role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene, assisting senior tandoor chefs, and ensuring consistent quality in all tandoori items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Tandoor Chef in preparing and marinating meats, vegetables, and dough for tandoor cooking.
  • Operate the tandoor safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the tandoor area and kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
  • Assist in plating and presentation of tandoori dishes.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
  • Help with inventory management and stock rotation for tandoor supplies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic culinary knowledge, preferably with experience in Indian or tandoori cuisine.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and handle hot equipment.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a tandoor kitchen or similar culinary environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15, ₹23,000.00 per month
