An Indian Commi 1 Chef is an entry-level kitchen assistant responsible for food preparation and cooking of Indian cuisine under the guidance of senior chefs, focusing on tasks like ingredient prep, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, operating kitchen equipment, and supporting the efficient execution of recipes to ensure high-quality food and a positive guest experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Ingredient Preparation: Washing, chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients for Indian dishes.
  • Cooking Assistance: Assisting in the cooking of Indian dishes using basic techniques and following standard recipes.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining cleanliness of work stations, kitchen equipment, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Stock Management: Taking inventory, rotating stock, discarding expired food, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
  • Quality & Presentation: Ensuring that prepared food meets quality standards and follows established presentation guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Following Instructions: Adhering to all instructions and directions given by senior chefs and supervisors.
