Job Description Brand Manager
Position Overview
The Brand Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening the SHM Group brand across all touchpoints corporate, digital, PR, and employer branding. This role will ensure consistency of brand messaging globally while enhancing SHMs reputation as a trusted marine safety and offshore solutions partner. The ideal candidate will blend strategic brand management, content marketing, and PR execution with the ability to translate complex technical work into compelling stories.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Define and implement the Group Brand Strategy aligned with business vision.
- Evolve and maintain brand architecture across business verticals.
- Develop and monitor brand guidelines — visual identity, tone, messaging.
- Partner with leadership to refine brand purpose and messaging pillars.
Corporate Communication & PR
- Build and manage relationships with trade media, maritime publications, and industry bodies.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and corporate stories.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives for senior leadership.
- Coordinate participation in events, exhibitions, and conferences.
Digital Brand & Content Marketing
- Lead content strategy across website, LinkedIn, YouTube, and digital channels.
- Oversee production of multimedia content — videos, infographics, project case studies.
- Manage SEO optimization and analytics tracking for brand performance.
Employer Branding & Internal Communication
- Collaborate with HR for Employer Brand initiatives such as 'Humans of SHM'.
- Develop internal newsletters and recognition campaigns reinforcing culture.
- Highlight innovation, learning, and employee achievements.
Brand Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct brand audits and competitor benchmarking.
- Track KPIs for engagement, media mentions, and brand awareness.
- Maintain dashboards for management on branding ROI and PR impact.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Consistency of brand representation across platforms (% adherence to brand guidelines).
- Growth in digital engagement metrics (followers, reach, impressions).
- Number of earned media mentions / trade publication features.
- Brand awareness and recall improvement (survey-based).
- Internal employee engagement score linked to employer branding.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Background
• MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Communications, or Brand Management.
• 7–10 years of experience in B2B branding / industrial marketing / corporate communications.
• Experience in manufacturing, marine, defense, engineering, or safety industries preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical storytelling — converting complex engineering topics into simple, human stories.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic – Brand positioning, market analysis, competitor mapping.
- Creative & Content – Storytelling, content strategy, campaign ideation, copywriting.
- Digital Marketing – SEO/SEM, LinkedIn campaigns, video content, analytics.
- PR & Communication – Media relations, press releases, corporate presentations.
- People & Collaboration – Cross-functional coordination with HR, Sales, Technical, Leadership.
- Analytical – Brand perception metrics, ROI measurement, data-driven decisions.
Behavioral Traits
- Strong storytelling ability and human-centered communication.
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable with technical storytelling.
- Balanced creative and operational mindset — ideate and execute.
- Excellent communication skills (English mandatory; Hindi/regional a plus).
