Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to join our Database Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing AWS database solutions, ensuring seamless integration with our existing financial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

SQL Server Migration

• Hands-on experience in migrating SQL Server from on-premises to AWS/cloud using AWS DMS, ensuring seamless data transfer with minimal downtime.
• Expertise in migrating via AWS DMS service using the Change Data Capture (CDC) approach.
• Experience in handling temporal tables during migration to ensure historical data consistency.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

• Expertise in Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

Failover & Failback Strategies

• Implement and manage failover and failback strategies to ensure business continuity with minimal impact during planned or unplanned outages.

Database Maintenance & Optimization

• Perform database server maintenance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Improve database performance through query tuning and index management.
• Resolve database deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, and conflicts effectively.

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and errors.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Utilize database monitoring tools to track performance and ensure smooth operations.
• Review logs to proactively identify and address issues.
• Use SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, Query Store, and DMVs , SolarWinds for proactive monitoring.

Query Optimization & Execution Plans

• Improve database efficiency by analyzing execution plans, optimizing stored procedures, and reducing query execution time.

Database Workload Management

• Monitor, analyze, and fine-tune database workloads to prevent bottlenecks and optimize throughput.

Real-Time Data Replication

• Hands-on experience in real-time data replication and synchronization across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).

Database Automation

• Automate deployment, migration, scaling, and maintenance using PowerShell, CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS Lambda.

Backup & Recovery

• Implement robust backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity.
• Regularly test backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure minimal downtime.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for AWS-hosted databases.

Security & Compliance

• Assess database security standards, including access controls and auditing.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Implement best practices for encryption, auditing, and role-based access control (RBAC).

Collaboration & Issue Resolution

• Collaborate with developers to resolve query inefficiencies and improve application integration.
• Work closely with the development team to optimize database performance .
• Coordinate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to enhance database integration and system performance.

AWS Database Services

• Design, implement, and manage AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena , Glue, and other AWS data solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration of AWS databases with on-premises and cloud-based applications.

Real-Time Data Replication

• Hands-on experience in real-time data replication and synchronization across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud). = USING DMS SERVICE

Experience in provisioning and managing the DB clusters for HA productions environment.
