Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and exposure to OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, performance tuning, and maintenance of Postgres databases to ensure high availability, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.

- Monitor database performance using OEM and native PostgreSQL tools, ensuring optimal efficiency and uptime.

- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical business data.

- Implement and manage database security, roles, and access controls.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring high availability (HA) and replication setups.

- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.

- Collaborate with development and application teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, and schemas.

- Ensure data integrity, scalability, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

- Document database processes, configurations, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience with strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration.

- Proficiency in OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and performance tuning.

- Strong knowledge of database architecture, replication, partitioning, and clustering.

- Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.

- Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL scripting, and query optimization.

- Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications :

- PostgreSQL DBA Certification (or equivalent).

- Oracle Database/OEM certifications (added advantage).
