Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design tools including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and machining of components.
  • Work experience with GSE and LRU development for defence sectors.
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.

Senior
Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components, assemblies, BOM and systems based on project requirements and engineering principles.
  • Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams, vendors, and production to refine designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design and development of sheet metal components, assemblies, and structures using CAD software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Design and development of machining components as per the requirement.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, features, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Estimate budget and scope of project.
  • Proper planning of the projects within the timeline.
  • Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Maintain and update design records and technical documentation.
