About the Role

At WhiteShark Energy, we believe the
design of a solar power plant is just as critical as its construction
. We're looking for a
technically strong and creatively aware designer
who can transform rooftops and open spaces into highly optimized solar systems using precision tools, software, and solid engineering sense.

You will be an integral part of our
Engineering Design Team
, supporting project planning with detailed 2D/3D layouts, shadow analysis, system simulations, and approval drawings that ensure technical accuracy, performance prediction, and financial clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret site visit notes, photos, and rooftop/CAD drawings to create solar plant layouts (residential, commercial, industrial).
  • Prepare 2D and 3D designs using
    SketchUp, AutoCAD, and similar tools
    .
  • Conduct
    shadow analysis
    and evaluate design feasibility using terrain, orientation, tilt, and shading factors.
  • Run plant performance simulations on
    PV*Sol / PVsyst / Solar Ladder / Helioscope
    to estimate monthly & annual energy generation.
  • Create
    Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
    , panel layouts, inverter placement plans, and electrical interconnection drawings.
  • Collaborate with the
    Sales, Engineering, and Procurement teams
    to translate commercial requirements into technical solutions.
  • Assist in preparing
    client-ready design decks
    ,
    approval documentation
    , and submission files for DISCOMs or net-metering authorities.
  • Support project costing with
    BOM estimation and design-based variation checks
    .
  • Stay up to date with solar mounting structures, inverter technologies, and industry best practices in rooftop and ground-mount design.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in
    Electrical Engineering
    ,
    Energy Systems
    ,
    Architecture
    , or a related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in:
  • SketchUp
    ,
    AutoCAD
    , or similar design software
  • PVsyst
    ,
    Solar Ladder
    ,
    Helioscope
    , or other simulation tools
  • MS Excel and Google Sheets for basic calculations and documentation
  • Understanding of
    basic electrical systems
    , SLDs, and cable routing.
  • Ability to read and interpret
    architectural, structural, and electrical drawings
    .
  • Bonus: Experience with
    Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
    for minor creative elements (not the main focus).
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative in cross-functional teams.
