YOUR NEW ROLE
​

• The Midrange and Engineered Platforms team provides infrastructure support for a range of environments running on non-Windows operating systems (OS) such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Solaris, Oracle Linux and Oracle Virtual Machines. The team also support the proprietary Oracle Engineered Systems appliances, including Oracle ExaDatas, Private Cloud Appliances, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances, Big Data appliances, and the databases, operating systems and middleware running on these.
• As a Senior Database Administrator, you will provide technical leadership in support of the on-premise Oracle Engineered Systems appliances (including Exadata and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances), as well as all associated Oracle Databases. Additionally, you will actively maintain and use Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor the health of all environments.
• You will be responsible for delivering a resilient and highly available environment which adheres to the bank's compliance framework, risk policies, and technology strategy. You will manage incidents, problems, changes, vulnerabilities and non-compliance tickets in line with NAB's Service Management framework.
• You will drive innovation and improvements to the current patching process to enable faster and safer remediation of vulnerabilities. You will support the Database Product Owner by contributing to technology roadmaps and strategy. You will identify and effectively manage risk across platforms and ensure the risk profile remains as low as reasonably practicable.
• You will ensure the all platforms you support are maintained to an exceptional grade of service for our colleagues and customers.
• Deliver value to the banks customers through secure and available systems.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure systems comply with compliance framework and risk policy requirements.
• Drive simplification and hyper-standardisation with a view to lowering management costs and improving consolidation.
• Ensure high quality change management with high success rate of implementation.
• Drive event analysis and reduction to prevent future incidents from occurring.Work closely with other technical experts to deliver a cohesive/standardised environment.
• Work with asset teams to identify and resolve roadblocks.
• Foster knowledge sharing across the team to uplift team capabilities Mentor other team members to ensure development

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 14+ years experience managing Oracle Engineered Systems, including Exadata and ZDRLA
• Experience with cloud-based applications

• Ability to provide technical consultation in area of expertise

• Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making

• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting & documentation skills
• Strong delivery focus with an active approach to quality and auditability
• Ability to work under pressure and excel within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to self-manage tasks & guide and mentor other team members
