Manager - Project Management & Planning (Solar)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage comprehensive project execution plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Prepare detailed Level 1 to Level 4 project schedules using Primavera / MS Project, integrating all engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Define and monitor critical paths, float analysis, and schedule baselines for tracking progress.
- Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to align project schedules with deliverables and material availability.
2. Project Management & Execution Control
- Lead the project from kick-off through commissioning, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Establish project governance frameworks, reporting protocols, and coordination mechanisms.
- Review project progress against approved schedules and budgets; identify delays and develop mitigation measures.
- Coordinate between HO and site project teams for execution tracking and issue resolution.
- Conduct regular site visits for progress monitoring and quality validation.
3. Cost, Budget & Resource Management
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flows, and cost-to-complete estimates.
- Track project expenditure against budget and highlight variances with root cause analysis.
- Support procurement in vendor evaluation, contract management, and billing verification.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
4. Risk Management & Issue Resolution
- Identify, assess, and track project risks (technical, commercial, regulatory, and execution).
- Maintain a live risk register and ensure mitigation measures are implemented timely.
- Anticipate potential roadblocks related to land, approvals, logistics, and site conditions.
- Drive proactive problem-solving with cross-functional teams to avoid schedule and cost overruns.
5. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation including approvals, drawings, material inspection reports, MOMs, and site logs.
- Generate periodic MIS and dashboard reports for management covering physical progress, financial status, and risk updates.
- Prepare monthly / quarterly project review presentations for top management and clients.
6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a single point of contact for coordination between internal teams Engineering, SCM, Contracts, QA/QC, EHS, and Finance.
- Engage with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies for approvals, reviews, and inspections.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities for regulatory and compliance-related approvals (CEIG, DISCOM, SLDC, etc.).
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC plans and adherence to approved drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Monitor EHS compliance at site and integrate safety parameters into project plans.
- Conduct project closeout reviews, lessons learned sessions, and maintain project handover documentation.
8. Team Leadership & Development
- Guide planning engineers and site project coordinators on project control methodologies.
- Foster a collaborative project management culture emphasizing accountability, transparency, and timely decision-making.
- Support training initiatives and process improvement within the PMO.
Project Management & Planning for Utility-Scale Solar Projects (EPC / IPP).
- Proven track record of managing projects of 50 MW+ capacity or multiple parallel solar projects.
- Hands-on experience with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) and ERP-based monitoring systems.
- Exposure to hybrid / BESS-integrated solar projects will be an added advantage.
