Job Title: Purchase Coordinator / Purchase Executive

Location: Symbiosis University, Pune

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Coordinator/Executive to manage procurement activities for Symbiosis University. The role involves vendor management, sourcing of materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and coordinating with various academic and administrative departments to meet institutional requirements in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the end-to-end procurement cycle including indent processing, vendor sourcing, negotiation, and order placement.
  • Identify reliable vendors and suppliers for goods and services required by the University (IT equipment, laboratory items, books, stationery, furniture, consumables, etc.).
  • Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and ensure adherence to University policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (academic, administration, facilities, IT, etc.) to understand purchase requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and payment follow-ups.
  • Track delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
  • Conduct periodic vendor evaluations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and University procurement guidelines.
  • Assist in budgeting, cost control, and audit documentation related to procurement.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, or other procurement software.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple requirements.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliances and purchase norms in an academic/university environment (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹35,000.00 per month
