Job Title:HR Head – The Sports Gurukul

Location:Mumbai, India

Experience: 8–10 years of progressive HR experience

About The Sports Gurukul (TSG):
The Sports Gurukul is one of India's leading grassroots sports companies, working with schools, institutions, and communities to promote structured sports education and training. With a growing presence across multiple cities, TSG is now looking for a dynamic HR Head to establish and lead its human resources function from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Strategy & Setup

Build the HR department from scratch, including policies, systems, and processes.

Develop and execute strategies for recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement aligned with business goals.

Create a strong employer branding strategy to attract top talent in the education and sports sectors.

  1. Recruitment & Talent Management

Design and implement a robust hiring strategy for coaches, trainers, operations staff, and leadership positions.

Ensure timely hiring to meet expansion and operational needs.

Build a sustainable talent pipeline in partnership with leading educational institutions.

  1. Performance & Growth

Implement clear performance metrics and appraisal systems.

Drive training and development programs to upskill employees and ensure retention of high performers.

  1. Employee Engagement & Culture

Build a positive, high-performance work culture aligned with TSG's mission and values.

Develop and implement employee feedback and engagement initiatives.

  1. Compliance & Operations

Ensure adherence to all statutory labor laws and regulations.

Oversee payroll coordination and HR documentation for all employees.

Key Requirements:
Education: MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent, preferably with exposure to education or institution-based environments.

Experience: 8-10 years in HR, with proven experience in building or scaling HR functions.

Skills & Competencies:
Strong recruitment strategy and execution skills.

Excellent pressure-management and multitasking ability.

Ability to establish systems and processes from scratch.

Go-getter attitude with a willingness to put in extra effort in the first year.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong knowledge of HR technology tools and analytics.

Willingness to travel across cities to support hiring, training, and operational needs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Recruitment Effectiveness: Timely fulfillment of hiring needs across roles and locations.

Process Implementation: Development and rollout of core HR policies and frameworks within the first year.

Employee Engagement: Positive feedback scores from internal surveys and reduced attrition.

Performance Management: Establishment of a clear appraisal process with measurable outcomes.

Compliance: Zero compliance issues or delays in statutory filings.

Operational Efficiency: Smooth coordination between HR and operational teams across all locations.
