Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs (CDP / DCDP) in preparing Italian dishes such as pasta, risotto, pizza, sauces, and antipasti.
- Handle mise-en-place tasks including chopping, slicing, marinating, and preparing ingredients for the section.
- Follow standard recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines for Italian dishes.
- Support the kitchen team during service to ensure timely preparation of dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Store and label ingredients properly to prevent spoilage or contamination.
- Report shortages, breakages, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation under supervision.
- Minimize food wastage through careful preparation and portioning.
- Be flexible to assist other kitchen sections when required.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP).
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate / Diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
- 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen; freshers with basic Italian culinary knowledge may be considered.
- Basic understanding of Italian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Awareness of hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under supervision.
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and during banquets or special events.
