Key Responsibilities
- Assist the DCDP/CDP in preparing and cooking Indian dishes such as curries, tandoor items, gravies, biryanis, and breads.
- Handle mise-en-place (cutting, chopping, marination, grinding, etc.) for the section as directed by seniors.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly prepared, stored, and labeled.
- Maintain portion control and ensure dishes are consistent with the hotel's recipes and presentation standards.
- Support senior chefs during service hours by ensuring timely preparation of dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP standards).
- Report any shortage or damage of ingredients, tools, or equipment to the supervisor.
- Follow standard recipes and cooking procedures as per Dandy Hotel's guidelines.
- Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies properly.
- Work cooperatively with team members across kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations.
- Be flexible with shifts, events, banquets, and special menus as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (preferably in Indian cuisine) in a 4★/5★ hotel or reputed restaurant.
- Basic knowledge of Indian cooking, tandoor, spices, and gravies.
- Familiarity with food hygiene, kitchen sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
- Team-oriented with good discipline and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary department.
