Job Purpose: Supervisor - Stevedoring is responsible for supervising the day-to-day stevedoring activities, ensuring that cargo is handled safely and efficiently. This role supports the Line Manager and Shift In Charge by directly overseeing the operational execution on the ground and maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

Responsibilities

Stevedoring Supervision:

Directly supervise stevedoring activities, ensuring that operations are carried out safely and meet daily performance targets.

Operational Support:

Provide on-ground support for berthing management, assisting with the coordination of services and vessel operations.

Resource Management:

Deploy resources, including labor and equipment, as directed by the Line Manager, to ensure efficient cargo handling.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all stevedoring personnel adhere to safety protocols and that equipment is used correctly.

Housekeeping Management:

Maintain cleanliness and order in the work areas, supervising housekeeping activities on the jetty.

Documentation & Reporting:

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of operational documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Continuous Improvement Process:

Contribute to the assessment of operational performance and support initiatives for continuous improvement.

Digital Mindset:

Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.

Team Development:

Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.

Key Stakeholders - Internal:

Head of Section - Dry Cargo Operations, Head of Section - Stevedoring, Line manager - Stevedoring, Shift In Charge - Stevedoring (large), Other Department Heads & Direct reportees

Prospective clients, government and regulatory bodies, Trade groups, Competitors

Experience & Educational Requirements



EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Any Graduate

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)
8-14 years in Vessel Operation in any Port/ CHP etc
