Key Roles and Responsibilities
Market Analysis & Strategic Planning: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, industry dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes in the electric two-wheeler sector. Analyze region-specific opportunities for market entry,
expansion, diversification, and partnerships.
Develop and implement a forward-looking business development strategy that aligns with SVMs growth objectives and sustainability mission. Monitor and assess the impact of government policies, EV subsidies, and infrastructure developments on business performance.
Sales Growth & Revenue Acceleration: Own and drive the achievement of sales and revenue targets through effective channel development, territory expansion, and product penetration. Explore new sales channels (e.g., B2C, fleet, institutional, government), market segments, and high-potential geographies.
Build and promote a performance-driven sales culture across the organization, focusing on KPIs, accountability, and outcome orientation. Track sales metrics, generate reports, and identify strategic levers to improve conversion rates and sales efficiency.
Dealer Development & Channel Excellence: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new dealers to strengthen the pan-India distribution footprint in line with demand forecasts and strategic goals. Cultivate strong relationships with dealers, suppliers, and ecosystem partners, fostering mutual growth and trust.
Oversee dealer performance using KPIs and dashboards, ensuring regular reporting on sales, operations, and customer service.
Guide dealers on business management best practices, including:
Timely financial reporting, Working capital efficiency, Use of Dealer Information Network at DMS.
Ensure execution of New Dealer Support Programs, training rollouts, and infrastructure setup initiatives. Manage and provide budget accruals for dealer development initiatives, in coordination with finance and accounting teams.
Product Development & Market Feedback: Act as the voice of the customer and the market, providing critical feedback to the product development and R&D teams.
Collaborate on the ideation and evolution of innovative electric mobility solutions that meet regional customer needs. Ensure continuous alignment between product roadmaps and evolving market demands, including feature improvements, pricing, and sustainability attributes.
Regulatory & Compliance Management: Stay abreast of automotive and EV industry regulations, including state and central government mandates, FAME guidelines, safety standards, and EV policy updates.
Ensure that all national and regional operations are conducted in full compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to support dealership certifications, documentation, and dispute resolutions if needed.
Team Leadership & Capability Building: Build, lead, and mentor a pan-India team of regional heads, sales managers, and business development professionals.
Set clear performance objectives, ensure ongoing coaching, and conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions. Foster a culture of ownership, excellence, and customer-first thinking across all levels of the sales organization.
Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Coordinate with Marketing, Product, Service, Finance, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
Contribute to national marketing campaigns, dealer meets, and brand awareness programs to drive demand generation. Engage with key external stakeholders, including government agencies, EV alliances, OEM partners, and suppliers to advance SVM's presence and thought leadership in the EV space.
Sales Operations, Forecasting & Budget Management: Lead accurate sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities to ensure effective business planning.
Monitor and optimize regional and national sales operations, identifying gaps and deploying corrective actions. Ensure timely sharing of insights, risks, and opportunities with senior leadership and contribute to quarterly and annual business reviews.
Business Agility & Geographic Flexibility: Demonstrate full flexibility and readiness to relocate or travel across India based on organizational needs, regional expansions, or strategic deployments.
Lead new market development initiatives, including location scouting, competitive benchmarking, and dealer infrastructure setup.
