This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work on BlackRock's investment operating system, Aladdin or equivalent experience. Aladdin's sophisticated risk analytics and comprehensive portfolio management tools empower informed decision-making and build a connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide. As a part of the Aladdin Engineering group, you will be at the forefront of building next-generation technology that intersects information, people, and technology globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor junior team members from both technical and functional standpoints, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
- Be hands-on and own functional deliveries, ensuring detailed execution and high-quality outcomes.
- Manage comprehensive testing phases from planning to execution for functional and non-functional requirements, including design, development, and delivery.
- Team up with peers, product managers, developers, and other partners to comprehend client requirements, engage in design dialogues, and maintain high-quality work you're doing.
- Analyze and report on QA metrics, trends, and opportunities for improvement, communicating findings to senior management and recommending corrective actions.
- Champion a culture of quality within the organization, driving awareness and alignment with quality standards.
- Prioritize and develop improvements to continuously improve application stability and scalability.
- Conduct reviews of applications and workflow processes to determine automation efficiency.
- Drive a strong culture by bringing principles of inclusion and diversity to the team and setting the tone through specific recruiting, management actions, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
- B.E. or equivalent experience / B.Tech. or equivalent experience / MCA degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area.
- 10+ years of proven experience in a senior QA role within the financial services industry, ideally in asset management or a related field.
Skills and Experience
- Deep understanding of investment management processes, risk management methodologies, regulatory compliance requirements, or Investment Accounting skills.
- Hands-on experience with Automation testing using tools like Selenium.
- Strong knowledge of Automation test frameworks, tools, and scripting languages.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex issues.
- Consistent track record of successfully leading and implementing QA programs that drive continuous improvement.
- Solid understanding of software quality assurance and engineering processes, methodologies, and effective approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams with varied strengths.
- Good foundation in RDBMS, SQL, and application infrastructure technologies, performance testing tools & methodologies (JMeter or other), and API testing for handling complex distributed systems.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to address challenges and work closely with all levels across teams to efficiently implement solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in an Agile Development Team.
- Familiarity with AZURE DevOps, CI/CD integration, and associated tools and processes (Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube).
- Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning (ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot).
- Experience with Specflow/Cucumber and BDD.
- Experience with cloud-based testing.
- Experience with API testing (Postman, Soap UI).
