Manager - Proposal

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the bidding process regarding proposal for control & safety system (DCS, ESD, F&G, BMS, TMC, SCADA, PLC, Digital Platform – Cyber Security & Advisors, Field Instrumentation) including service solutions, process design consulting or manufacturing services.
• Develops the final pricing and technical proposals associated with a bid.
• Maintains an open line of communication with customers and sales staff in order to ensure that customers receive quotations that are both economical and meet the technical requirements of a project.

• Prepare minimum compliance, cost effective proposals and consistently strive to improve the efficiency and accuracy of proposal generation in Control, Safety, PLC, Advanced Applications, Digital and Instrumentation.

• Work with Support of Sales team and at times directly with customers to understand their processes and develop the best solutions for their requirements.

• Review and interpret technical specifications and customers' requirements with Bid Manager and/or Pursuit Leader, Solution Architect and other team members respectively
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect for solution strategy and client specific requirements such as bill of material, technical compliance, solution descriptions, assumptions/exclusion, etc.
• Collaborate with the Bid Manager and/or Pursuit Leader for costing strategy, client specific Price Summary structure and Terms and Conditions requirements.
• Interact with Solution Architect to build the Resale requirements and work with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to request for vendor quotations.
• Works closely with the Bid Manager and team to ensure all elements of the proposed solution are addressed and documented.
• Based on the results of the Solution Strategy and Design Review provides the detailed solution costing for management reporting and client submission.
• Render support to Sales and provide follow-up on commercial and technical clarifications.
• Is knowledgeable of corporate policy, pursuit processes and procedures.
• Acts independently to determine methods & procedures on new assignments and may backup the work of other personnel (if needed).
• Continuous improvements and undertake departmental initiatives or projects to improve work productivity & efficiency.
• Recognize and understand the customer's needs, deriving out minimal compliance requirements from tender specifications and make suggestions for possible solutions, and quickly develop budgetary numbers. Accuracy in costing & solution with value proposition is must & essential.
• Support and work on Government/ PSU bids with high level of accuracy in tender documentation
• Typical applications are Oil & Gas (Refinery/ Petrochem), MMM (Cement/ Steel), Water & Waste Water (Desalination/ Treatment Plants), Smart Cities, CPG, Life Sciences/ Pharma, Telemetry projects, Material handling.
• Major responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Cost analysis and estimating
• Knowledge of Cyber Security & Energy Efficiency during Campus time & off-role trainings/ seminars
• Develop value-added propositions and proposal writing.
• Present analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders and customers as necessary.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related discipline (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering etc.).
