Automotive Business Development Manager – Plastics Raw Material Compounds

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in our Plastics Raw Materials Compounds segment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in promoting engineering plastics and polymer compounds, with a focus on applications in the automotive industry. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities, and driving specifications with Automotive OEMs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business strategies to promote plastics raw materials and compounds, focusing on their technical and commercial benefits for automotive applications.
  • Identify and engage with decision-makers at Automotive OEMs, Tier-1, and Tier-2 suppliers to drive material approvals and specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Present Autotech-Sirmax's value proposition effectively, highlighting the benefits and competitive advantages of our products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to provide solutions tailored to customer needs, including product trials, technical support, and training.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning in the plastics compounds sector.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, prepare business proposals, and close deals to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and technical forums to promote our materials and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or technical sales, specifically in the plastics raw materials or polymer compounds industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving specifications with Automotive OEMs is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering plastics and polymer compounds, particularly in automotive applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively to meet customers and attend industry events.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards, material specifications, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Knowledge of circularity and sustainability in polymer applications is an advantage.
