Job Summary:

The Statutory Compliance Manager will oversee and manage the companys compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements in India. This role requires a deep understanding of Indian labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of implementing compliance strategies effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance:

  2. Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and changes affecting the business. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements including labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific compliance. Prepare and file necessary documentation for compliance with regulatory authorities.

  3. Documentation and Reporting:

  4. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to compliance activities.

  5. Manage internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

  6. Risk Management:

  7. Identify and assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  8. Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.

  9. Liaison and Coordination:

  10. Coordinate with external agencies, auditors, and consultants as required.

  11. Liaise with government authorities and ensure timely submission of compliance reports and documents.

  12. Continuous Improvement:

  13. Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations and recommend necessary changes to internal policies.

  14. Implement best practices in compliance management and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  15. Audits and Inspections:

  16. Prepare for and manage internal and external audits related to compliance.

  17. Implement corrective actions based on audit findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CS, CA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in statutory compliance or a related field, preferably in [industry or sector].
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and compliance management software.

  • Integrity and strong ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex compliance issues.
